At St. James Catholic School, the Student Council serves as the voice of the entire student body.
Each spring, officers are elected from the middle school. Students in grades third through eighth have homeroom representatives.

Go Cougars Go!
The primary goal of St. James School's athletic program in the Archdiocesan Interscholastic Athletic League (AIAL) is to represent Christ by exhibiting good sportsmanship through participation in and learning the fundamentals of sports.
We offer cross country, volleyball, cheer leading, basketball, soccer and track & field.
Our program focuses on building and developing teamwork and strength of character. Student athletes are expected to place academic commitment first, and must maintain passing grades in all subjects to be able to play. Athletes are expected to attend all practices and games throughout the season. Every athlete is expected to represent St. James School with pride.
The athlete, coach and team should strive to do their best in all areas of life. Being committed to the team and performing at one's best during practice and competition for the benefit of the team is primary; winning will take care of itself.
Athletics is a vital and integral part of St. James Catholic School. The SJS athletic program offers students opportunities for competition with other area Catholic schools in the Archdiocesan Interscholastic Athletic League.
Students in grades 5-8 may take part in cross country, volleyball, basketball, and track & field. Participation in athletics, either as a player or as a fan, is an important part of the school’s educational experience. We invite you to come out and support SJS athletics.
If your student wishes to try out and participate in any middle school sport, they are required to have a new Archdiocese of San Antonio physical exam form completed (each school year) and on file with the Athletic Director prior to the first day of try outs.
